News — ORAN INTRODUCE NEW CARDBOARD COLLECTION AND OFFICE RECYCLING SERVICES

Oran Recycling has launched two new services, as they expand operations within the dry waste market. The introduction of the cardboard collection and office recycling services will build upon the extensive range of services currently delivered by Oran Recycling, which are designed to meet individual customer needs whilst protecting the environment.
With an estimated 8 million tonnes of waste cardboard created annually in the UK, Oran’s cardboard collection service provides an environmentally friendly solution to businesses of all sizes. The service ranges from collection in containers and cages for larger businesses to pre-paid stickers for smaller organisations. The stickers are used to clearly identify waste cardboard ready for collection by Oran Recycling. Oran Recycling will provide a regular and scheduled collection service, ensuring that the cardboard is then recycled at their Grangemouth Materials Recycling Facility.
Despite the apparent move towards the paperless office, paper consumption continues to rise by around 20% per year in the UK. The introduction of Oran’s office recycling service provides customers with a simple way of facilitating a range of office recycling whilst raising awareness amongst employees. As part of this service Oran Recycling will supply customers with desk-top trays and free-standing boxes which are positioned in convenient locations, for example next to photocopiers to collect paper or in canteens to collect drinks cans and plastic bottles. Clear sacks are provided to collect the recyclables. As with the cardboard collection service, all waste office paper, cans and plastic bottles are collected on a regular basis and transported to the Grangemouth Materials Recycling Facility for recycling.
Nick Grove-White, Oran Recycling Dry Waste Manager, commented “we feel that the addition of these valuable dry waste services will help Oran Recycling to proactively tackle some of the issues many of our trade and commercial customers face daily. These services are already proving to be extremely popular - within the first month we have had almost 200 customers enrol for the cardboard collection service”
