News — RESPONSE GROUP SIGNS AGREEMENT FOR OWNERSHIP OF ORAN WASTE UK

The Response Group, one of Ireland’s leading water and wastewater treatment companies, is delighted to announce that it has signed an agreement for the purchase of Oran Waste UK Ltd, thus giving Response 100 per cent ownership of the Scottish based company.
The Irish owned Response Group provides water and environmental services for both public and private clients throughout Ireland. Response offers a wide range of turnkey solutions for the water industry, based on its track record in the design, construction and operation of treatment plants and operating facilities.
Oran Waste UK Ltd specialises in delivering environmental solutions, including dry waste material recovery and recycling, water and waste water treatment and disposal and the beneficial recycling of organic waste materials.
Commenting on the announcement, Doug Aitchison, managing director, Oran Waste UK Ltd. said: “There are many synergies between the Response Group and Oran Waste UK Ltd, including core environmental services, a commitment to continual improvement and the desire to build long term relationships with employees, customers, suppliers and the communities in which both operate. We are very excited about the new opportunities that this agreement now presents.”
Speaking on behalf of Response Group, chairman Noel Hanley said: “This is an extremely positive step for the Response Group and Oran Waste UK Ltd, providing an exciting milestone in the development of both companies and the Group. The acquisition marks an important addition to the Response Group’s existing business portfolio, whilst providing Oran Waste UK Ltd with improved resources including industry experience and expertise and financial resources. Our corporate development plan also includes a pipeline of other potential strategic international opportunities in the making.”
This transaction will give the group combined revenues of approximately EUR100m making it one of the largest privately owned operations of its kind in Ireland or the UK.
